Guided tour of the digitised Divje Babe cave
The Divje Babe Archaeological Park, which lies in the diverse area of the Idrija and Cerkno hills, is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Early Stone Age in the world. On a steep and rocky slope, which descends from the Šebrelje plateau into the valley of the Idrijca river, a cave lies hidden. This is where the world’s oldest musical instrument was discovered, the Neanderthal flute.
Visit the first cave in Slovenia which takes you to the mysterious times of the Neanderthals, with the help of projections on the walls, thus offering you a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

A visit to the digitised Divje Babe cave is only possible with a guide, by prior arrangement at least 3 days before the anticipated arrival, and within the announced schedule. The foreseen duration of the guided tour of the archaeological park is 2 hours. The meeting point is in front of the St. Ivan (St. John the Baptist) Church in Šebrelje. Suitable (sports) footwear is recommended for access to the cave.
